</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Michael A. Keener, 54, of Chester, IL, died February 13, 2009 at his residence.

The son of Albert and Rowena (Thompson) Keener, he was born January 2, 1955 in Chester, IL.

On January 26, 2002, he married Carolyn R. Vanek in Belleville, IL, and she preceded him in death on February 4, 2009.

Michael was a construction worker and he was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include three sons-Brandon Keener, Jeffrey Downey, and Joey Brunkhorst; one granddaughter, Hailey Easton; one brother, Albert Keener; one sister-in-law, Mary Lang; one aunt, Vickie Keener; and special friends-Ricky Drescher, Bo Mattingly, Terry Young, Kim & Jimmie LeForge II. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

According to his wishes, Michael was cremated.
