Irene Barker

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Irene Barker, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

Irene had worked as a bookkeeper for Farm Service. She was of the Christian faith.

She was born May 12, 1927 at Keenes, the daughter of Clifford and Dorothy (McCord) Donoho.

She married Joel Don "JD" Barker on August 31, 1946 at Rochelle, and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2008.

She is survived by three sons - Larry Barker and wife Janet of Mendota, Perry Barker of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Jeff Barker and wife Kathy of Du Quoin, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one sister and four brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from Noon until the time of service on Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Old Du Quoin Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
