Zakia Nichole Davis

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Zakia Nichole Davis age 32 of Elkville, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009 at her home as the result of a fire.

Zakia was born on July 18, 1976 in Tacoma, Wash., a daughter to David White and Brenda Whitfield. On July 20, 2007, she married Coy Davis in Du Quoin, and he survives. Zakia was a member of the First United Penecostal Church and worked as a C.N.A. for Helia of Carbondale. She was a loving mother and great friend.

She is survived by her husband: Coy Davis of Elkville, father: David White of Tacoma, Wash., mother: Brenda Whitfield of Elkville, paternal grandparents: Billie (Ivory) Crittendon of Tacoma, Wash., maternal grandfather: Louis Whitfield of Du Quoin, one daughter: Shayla Johnson of Elkville, one step-daughter: Tajah Ehler of Du Quoin, one brother: Jason Whitfield of Elkville, one sister: Ladewayna White of Tachoma, Wash., mother-in-law: Cindy Alvis of Elkville, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by one daughter: Ashanti Hilliard and maternal grandmother: Virginia Whitfield.

Funeral services will be held at First United Penecostal Church, Du Quoin, on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan McKinnies and Reverend C.L. McKinnies officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Du Quoin.

Friends may call at First United Penecostal Church, Du Quoin, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the family of Zakia Davis and Ashanti Hilliard.
