Jerry A. Lovel

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Jerry A. Lovel, age 72, of Vergennes, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 3:55 a.m. in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro.

Jerry was born on April 11, 1936, in Desoto, a son to Charles and Lula (Rice) Lovel. He was a veteran of the United States Marines serving during the Korean War. On December 1, 1977, he married Cora Myrtle "Bobbie" Young and she survives. He had retired as a custodian at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Survivors include his wife: Cora "Bobbie" Lovel, a son: Jim Lovel of Hurst, Texas, two daughters: Tina (Joseph) Fronek of Du Quoin, and Dawn Klamm of Tamaroa, two brothers: Victor (Sue) Lovel of Marion, and Donald (Judy) Lovel of Elkville, a sisters: Ruby Throgmorton of Jacksonville, Ariz., two sisters-in-law: Debbie (Frank) Green of Du Quoin, and Jeanine Lovel of Decatur, six grandchildren: Anthony Mullen, Jayci Hilt, Tjay Klamm, Johanna Fronek, Elizabeth Fronek, and Ethan Fronek, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Shiela Mullen, two brothers: Jack and Ronald Lovel, and two sisters: Betty Stevens and Wilma Lovel.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jerry Aken officiating. Interment will be in Desoto City Cemetery, Desoto.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
