Jennie V. Proctor

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Jennie V. Proctor (Granny Topper) age 99 of Christopher passed away at the Fair Acers Nursing Center in Du Quoin, Saturday March 28,2009

Jennie was born Jan. 30, 1910 in Coello to Silas and Myrtle (Talley) Short. She married John W. Proctor October 15, 1928 and together they enjoyed 53 years of marriage, till his death on July 29, 1983.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday march 31, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with the Rev. Gene Fox officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. till the service time, with burial in the Harrison Cemetery Buckner.

Jennie spent the last twelve years at the Marshall Browning Estates in Du Quoin and has been a resident of Fifth Season Residential Center since November. Special thanks to the staff at Fifth Seasons especially Barb and Noel for her excellent care.

She was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Christopher for many years.

Jennie is survived by her daughter Mary Lou and Husband Bob Arondelli of Valier, three grandchildren, Susan Raben and husband Tom of Christopher, Bob Arondelli Jr. and Christie Vercellino of Mulkeytown and Sandy Jones and husband Mike of Christopher, 8 great-grandchildren 11 great-great-grandchildren,and her beloved caregiver of 12 years Linda (Leroy) Whitman of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband five sisters and one brother. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the 1st Christian Church in Christopher or Tip Hospice of Southern Illinois with envelopes available at the funeral home.
