Virginia Normadine Edwards

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Virginia Normadine Edwards, age 87, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 4:37 p.m. in Herrin Hospital, Herrin.

Virginia was born on July 26, 1921 in Pinckneyville, a daughter to Roscoe "Slim" and Bessie (McCrary) Hester. On June 15, 1941, she married Lloyd Edwards in Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1981. She worked as a teacher teaching Home Economics at Tamaroa High School and then teaching at Steeleville Elementary School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, and was active in the Perry County Home and Community Education Program of the University of Illinois Extension.

Survivors include her sons: Steve (Sherry) Edwards of Libby, Mnot., and Mike Edwards of West Frankfort, brother: Richard "Dick" (Cheryl) Hester of Du Quoin, three grandchildren: Sonya (Brian) Bonar of Lynnwood, Wash., Stuart (Cindy) Edwards of Grand Forks, N.D., and Joshua Edwards of West Frankfort, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Betty Lee Morgenstern and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Robbey Smith officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
