Zella G. Bass Boyd

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Zella G. Bass Boyd, age 94, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, May 01, 2009 at 8:10 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL.

Zella was born on November 19, 1914 in Beckley, WV, a daughter to Irvin L. and Mary (Martin) Treadway. On September 6, 1930, she married Benton Bass in Beckley, WV and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1954. On September 19, 1959, she married Russell Boyd and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1983. Zella was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL and often attended Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Zella loved to play pinochle and took great pride in her children and her home.

She is survived by two daughters: Patsy (Jeff) Shute of Pinckneyville, IL and Phyllis Leininger of Toluca, IL, eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, two husbands, two sons: Ted Bass and Benny Bass, two sisters, three brothers and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
