Wilma Eileen Brock

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Wilma Eileen Brock, 78, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:00 A.M., Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Wilma had worked for Higgins Jewelry Store as a sales clerk for twenty-two years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and had been a Sunday School teacher. Wilma's biggest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was born October 6, 1930 at Belleville, IL, the daughter of Josiah Harriss and Elsie May (Rice) Manis.

She married Harrell Dean Brock on January 15, 1950 at Du Quoin, IL and he preceded her in death on September 26, 1969.

She is survived by one daughter - Willadene Skurat and husband Leo of Du Quoin, one son - Mark Brock and wife Abby of Du Quoin, grandchildren - Lee Ellen Stanhouse and husband Gary of Du Quoin, Lori Ann Ragland and husband Chuck of Sesser, Tim Burdel and wife Renee of Pinckneyville, Jennifer Nehring and husband Robert, Mindy Bailey, and Ryan Brock and wife Trisha, all of Du Quoin, great grandchildren - Jake and Emily Stanhouse, Chase and Nate Ragland, Bailey and Eli Nehring, Autumn and Kelsey Bailey, and Gabe and Ella Brock, one sister - Irene Ernst and husband Oscar of Canton, IL, sisters-in-law - Audrey Manis, Loretta Manis, Ruby Brock, and Doris Brock, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter - Lee Ellen Brock, son - John White, Jr., great grandson - Clayton Charles Ragland, brothers - James, Leonard, Otto, Leroy, and Robert Manis and sisters - Betty Lou Biggs and Louise Simmons, and special friend - Loyd Marlow.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) and/or National Tay-Sachs and Allied Diseases Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
