Carrie Belle Payne

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Carrie Belle Payne, 85, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:04 a.m., Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.

Carrie was a homemaker and had worked as a beautician for ten years. She was a member of the St. Johns United Church of Christ in Du Quoin and a member of the Women's Fellowship of the church. She was a member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.

She was born June 6, 1923 at Du Quoin, the daughter of Frank F. and Velma R. (Smith) Rudloff.

She married Robert V. Payne on May 29, 1943 at St. Charles, Mo., and he passed away on August 31, 1998.

She is survived by a son- Donald Payne and wife Antoinette of Vergennes, daughter-in-law- Judy K. Payne of Du Quoin, brother- Dale Rudloff of Du Quoin, grandchildren- Jill Asbury and husband Bill of Du Quoin, Chuck Payne of De Soto, Jennifer Robison of Du Quoin, Heather Waller and husband Trent of Du Quoin, great grandchildren- Caitlin, Lindsay, Emily and Brenna Asbury, Chuckie, Lauren and Miranda Payne, Katherine and Madeline Robison and Avery and Camden Waller, all of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son - Robert E. Payne, daughter-in-law- Judy Payne, granddaughter - Meredith Payne, and sister-in-law - Catherine Rudloff.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Rich Luh officiating.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville.

Friends may make memorials to the Special Olympics and will be accepted at the funeral home.
