Virginia K. Brelje, 92

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Virginia K. Brelje, 92, of Chester, IL, died May 28, 2009 at St. Ann's Healthcare Center, Chester, IL.

The daughter of Charles and Ethel (Falkenberry) Young, she was born January 22, 1917, in Cora, IL.

On December 28, 1935, she married Gerhard Brelje in Chester, IL, and he preceded her in death in 1991.

Virginia had worked as a Seamstress in a dress factory and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Chester; Lutheran Women's Missionary League; American Legion Auxiliary Post #487, Chester; Chester Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; AAL at St. John's; Chester Senior Citizens; and the Chester Women's Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda (James) Sympson of Chester, IL; one sister, Ruby Todaro of Columbia, MO; three grandchildren-Steven Sympson, Matthew (Jessica) Brelje, Mark (Marcy) Brelje; two great grandchildren-Benjamin and Eleanor; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Terry and Martha Brelje; three brothers-August, Glen, and Fred; and two sisters-Anna and Myrtle.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL with Rev. Mark Willig officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Chester.
