</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ruth E. Paetzhold, 86, of Ellis Grove, IL, died May 25, 2009 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, IL.

The daughter of Harry and Mayme (Johnson) Orrell, she was born May 31, 1922 in Posey, IL.

On July 1, 1944, she married J. Willard Paetzhold in Ellis Grove, IL, and he preceded her in death.

Ruth had been a Deputy Sheriff until her retirement in 1987 after 15 years of service. She then was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Ellis Grove, Methodist Women, and the Randolph County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include three children-Linda Roth of Manchester, MO, Jerry (Lynnette) Paetzhold of Chesterfield, MO, and Betty (Glenn) McCoy of Ellis Grove, IL; one sister, Lois Mueller of Belleville, IL; three grandchildren-Brian Roth, Matthew McCoy, and Jessi Paetzhold; and four nieces-Sheila, Cheryl, Pam and Lesley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Virginia Kempfer; and one son-in-law, Dick Roth.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Grace United Methodist Church, Ellis Grove, IL with Rev. Marvin "Bud" Bennett officiating. Burial was in the Ellis Grove City Cemetery in Chester, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Ellis Grove City Cemetery.
