Henry B. Justice

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Henry B. Justice, age 76, of Du Quoin, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11:36 a.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin.

Henry was born on August 31, 1932 in Du Quoin, a son to Clyde H. and Edna M. (Burris) Justice. On September 27, 1952, he married Mary E. Hartwell in Pinckneyville, and she survives. After playing one year with the Brooklyn Dodgers Minor League Baseball Team, he returned home to Du Quoin due to his father's failing health. From 1952 through 2005, he was involved in the ownership and operation of Du Quoin Iron & Supply. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Du Quoin, and the Elks Lodge, Du Quoin. He was an avid golfer and member of the Sugar Mill Country Club in Florida, the Red Hawk Country Club, Pinckneyville, and a member and former champion of the Southern Illinois Seniors Golf Association. He also loved fishing and hunting quail.

Survivors include his wife: Mary Justice of Du Quoin, son: James "Jim" H. (Kellee) Justice of Du Quoin, two daughters: Cynthia A. (David) Huite of Du Quoin, and Susan E. (John) Stratton of Du Quoin, two sisters: Ann Schumacher of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary (Ed) Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., nine grandchildren: Alicia, Alex, Josh, Matt, Stacy, Shari, Stevee, Jarrod, and Jordee, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Scroggins officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, on Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Du Quoin Youth Club.
