Ted Kimmel

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Ted Kimmel, age 78, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 3:50 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville.

Ted was born on December 3, 1930 in Winkle, a son to Lloyd and Lillie (Pushell) Kimmel. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. On March 8, 1952, he married Janet Hawkins in Pinckneyville, and she survives. In his lifetime, he worked as an operating engineer and a coal miner, was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, enjoyed fishing and boats, was a Illini basketball fan, and dearly loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife: Janet Kimmel of Pinckneyville, two daughters: Teddi (Carl Dean) Gladson and Gayle (Kevin) Vandiver, both of Pinckneyville, a sister: Ruby Hepp of Pinckneyville, five grandchildren: Seth (Menaka) Gladson, Autumn Gladson, Abbi Kimmel, Drew Vandiver, and Annie Vandiver, and one great-grandson: Nolan Gladson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.

Friends may call at Beaucoup Baptist Church on Monday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association or American Kidney Fund.
