Susan Kay Scarber
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Susan Kay Scarber, 52, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:56 a.m., Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the St. Johns Hospital in Springfield.
Susan was a homemaker. She was a member of the Holts Prairie Baptist Church at Pinckneyville. Susan grew up in Hopedale, and graduated from Olympia High School in Minier. She later attended John A. Logan College. Susan was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
She was born February 13, 1957 at Anna, the daughter of William and Rosalind (Fowler) Walker.
She married Richard E. Scarber on August 3, 1989 at Du Quoin and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, one son - Jeremy Walker and wife Chastity of Du Quoin, one daughter - Sharon Scarber of Du Quoin, her loving parents - William "Bill" and Rosalind Walker of Du Quoin, three grandchildren - Mylee Walker, Camden Walker, and Brandon Lee Scarber, all of Du Quoin, one sister - Mary Lou Lambrich of Tremont, one brother - William "Ted" Walker of Du Quoin, aunts - Betty Schmidgall and Mary Jane Summers, uncles - Barry Fowler, Jerry Walker, and Russell Walker, cousins and friends in Du Quoin and across the United States.
She was preceded in death by one brother - John Stanley Walker, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and one aunt - Ruthie Walker McCauley.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Collin Hirsch officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Holts Prairie Cemetery at Pinckneyville.
