Ruth E. Fulkerson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Ruth E. Fulkerson, 79, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:40 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Ruth was a homemaker. She had worked as a nanny for Dr. Bates, Dr. Marsden and Rick and Connie Krone. She had also worked as a presser at Pinckneyville Garment Factory. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin. She had participated in Home Bound for Seniors and Young at Heart, both of the church.

She was born July 30, 1929 at Morganfield, Ky., the daughter of William and Pearl (Blackburn) Campbell.

She married Melvin Andrew Fulkerson on March 19, 1946 at Morganfield, Ky., and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1976.

She is survived by one daughter - Brenda Joyce Fulkerson Wall of Du Quoin, one son - Kenneth Fulkerson of Du Quoin, one brother - Leo Campbell of Morganfield, Ky., two grandchildren, four step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, and one step great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son - Jimmy Ray Fulkerson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Dan McKinnies and Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.

Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Morganfield, Ky.
