Margaret Rose Day

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Margaret Rose Day, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:44 P.M., Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Margaret was a homemaker. She had worked twenty three years as an inspector at UNI in Pinckneyville.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and the Catholic Daughters.

She was born January 5, 1928 at Mound City, IL the daughter of Carl G. and Mary (Dunn) Johansen.

She married Joseph R. Day on May 29, 1954 at Mound City, IL and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1983.

She is survived by seven children- Mark Day and wife Suzan of Du Quoin, Jim Day and wife Janice of Mascoutah, Tony Day and wife Amy of High Ridge, MO, Claire Day of Du Quoin, Barbara Essen and husband Jake of Nashville, Carl Day and wife Penny of Indianapolis, IN, Joseph Day and wife Stephanie of Du Quoin, fifteen grandchildren- Justin Day, Jordan Day, Jared Day, Jason Day, Cass Day, Caleb Day, Emily Day, Olivia Day, Lindsay Cavitt, Ryan Flack, Tyler Day, Madison Day, Sydnie Day, Sadie Day and Rylie Day, sister- Mary Helen Talley of Orlando, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother- James Johansen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Sacred Heart Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
