Helen Mae Morris

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Helen Mae Morris, 81, of Tamaroa, passed away at 9:25 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Helen was a homemaker and had worked at the Pinckneyville Garment Factory. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Du Quoin.

She was born March 19, 1928 at Pinckneyville, the daughter of James and Gertie (Farthing) Carter.

She married Carl E. Morris on September 6, 1947 at Du Quoin, and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2006.

She is survived by one son - John Morris and wife Paula of Tamaroa, two daughters - Sheila Reppenhagen of Alpharetta, Ga., and Carla Zemeckis of Sandwich, one sister -Ollie Wafford of Mattoon, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - Carl Edward Morris, one brother - Orval "Bud" Carter, one sister - Ruby Loucks, and two half brothers - Clarence Carter and Richard Carter.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Jamie Carter officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Second Baptist Church at Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
