Helen Ione Easley, 84

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Helen Ione Easley, 84, of Chester, IL, died July 8, 2009 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, IL.

The daughter of James Wilbert and Bertha Irene (Shemoney) Smith, she was born February 6, 1925 in Rockwood, IL.

On September 25, 1982, she married Herman Easley in Collinsville, IL, and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Helen was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith and had been a Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors include two daughters-Caroline Jean Goleaner and Peggy Sue Loyd, both of Chester, IL; one sister, Norma (Ed) Wingerter of Chester, IL; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and two sisters.

It was Helen's wishes to be cremated. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
