J. Carroll Valier

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[J. Carroll Valier, age 74, of Mount Vernon, Ind., formerly of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at 5:40 p.m. in Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mount Vernon, Ind.

Carroll was born on Jan. 5, 1935 in Du Quoin, Ill., a son to Claude and Hazel (Marlow) Valier. He was a member of Nine Mile Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., the Eagles Lodge, Pinckneyville, Ill., and loved to play golf and collect antique engines. He was a self-employed carpet layer for 25 years and owned and operated Valier Carpet for 10 years.

Survivors include a daughter: Cynthia Valier of Du Quoin, Ill., a brother: Charles (Margaret) Valier of Mount Vernon, Ind., two granddaughters: Cortney and Shelbey Valier, two nephews: Craig and Chris Valier, two nieces: Carla Breiner and Cinda Denning, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Petty officiating. Interment was in Paradise Cemetery, Tamaroa, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
