He was born March 21, 1913 in Du Quoin to Frank and Anna (Greib) Schleper Sr. His older sister, Anna Mae, is deceased. His school years were spent at Sacred Heart Parish in Du Quoin and he helped his father and uncles with their wholesale grocery business.
Around 1942, Frank enlisted in the Army and served for about four years in France and Okinawa. His business career began in Springfield and then moved to Chicago where he worked in accounting and business affairs at the State Department level. After a time, Frank and his friend, Lew, started their own personal accounting business and were successful for many years. His interest in the stock market flourished and he was often sought out for advice in the gold mining industry.
In 1947, Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago started a Youth Group (Cappa Club). Frank became an active member and later met his wife to be, Florence LaMarre at the social events. They married August 13, 1949. Florence preceded him in death May 10, 2000. Frank enjoyed travel, picnics, playing cards and most of all going to baseball games. The Cubs were his favorite, but he loved the game.
He was a very generous man, kind and helpful. Frank spoke his mind and loved his Lord. He sought no special thanks during his lifetime, and his true reward awaits him in heaven.
He leaves his devoted sister-in-law, Cecile LaMarre Enright of Bourbonnais and Carlsbad, Calif. His close friend, Tom O'Connor, also survives along with many loving cousins from around the country.
