Norma D. Uhles

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Norma D. Uhles, 84, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:35 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.

Norma was a homemaker. She had worked for several years as a Lab Tech for Marshall Browning Hospital and had worked for twelve years for Dr. B. Kinsman as a Lab Tech. She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin and had been a Red Cross worker for several years working blood drives.

She was born July 14, 1925 at Tamaroa, Ill. the daughter of Norman and Mildred (Long) Marshall.

She married Robert Uhles on July 20, 1943 in Texas and he preceded her in death September 25, 1983.

She is survived by two sons- Dan Uhles and wife Marla of Du Quoin and Chris Uhles of Du Quoin, daughter- Robin Roach of Du Quoin, two brothers- James Marshall and wife Jean of Katy, Tex. and Billy Ray Marshall and wife Peggy of Bartoesville, Okla., six grandchildren- Melissa Uhles, Sean Uhles, Neil Uhles, Amy Hill, Nicki Asbury and Erin Cook, 13 great grandchildren- Hunter Hill, Sophie Hill, Abby Hill, Kirstin Asbury, Tyler Asbury, Blake Asbury, Derren Cook, Alyssa Ellison, Carlie Gibson, Cayle Gibson, Jordan Uhles, Joshua Uhles and Ethan Uhles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Michael Uhles, grandson- Drew Uhles.

Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Bill Causer officiating.

Friends called from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
