Edward R. Trail

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Edward R. Trail, age 56, of Pinckneyville, Ill., stepped peacefully from this earth into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at 2:35 p.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ed was born on Aug. 24, 1953 in Murphysboro, Ill., a son to Hallard and Mary (Speith) Trail. On Dec. 16, 2006, he married Lisa Spears and she survives. Although they were not destined to be together for long, they experienced a love beyond belief.

Ed began his career as a mechanic by following in his dad's footsteps. He was employed in the family business, Hal's Repair Shop, and took over after the death of his dad. He was employed for 15 years as a production mechanic at BRP Inc. in Benton, Ill. He was a volunteer fireman and E.M.T. for Pinckneyville City and Rural Fire Department for 25 years and a member of the Coal-Belt Fire Association. Ed was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He loved to take trips, long or short, on his motorcycle, collecting fire trucks, boating, fishing and spending time with his family. Ed will be missed tremendously by family and friends, and will be joyously waiting for their coming.

Ed is survived by his wife, mother, a son, Mike Trail, step-daughter; Lindy Workman, two granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Coral Workman; three brothers, Larry "Hap" (Cindy) Trail and Dean (Kathy) Trail, all of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Mark (Lisa) Trail of Cutler, Ill.; one sister, Mary Priebe of Percy, Ill.; one uncle, Gerald (Retta) Speith of Ava, Ill., father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Ruth Spears; two sisters-in-law, Karen (Jeff) Spencer and Jennifer Hagen, all of West Frankfort, Ill. and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; one infant brother, Thomas and a very special brother-in-law, Terry "Merle" Priebe.

Funeral services were held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and then at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
