James R. Macaluso

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James R. "Jimmy Mac" Macaluso, 76, of Elkville, passed away at 8:10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at the Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

Jimmy Mac had been retired from steel sales in Chicago and in 2007 he retired as a bagger at Krogers. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin. He was a member of the Du Quoin American Legion.

He was born Oct. 30, 1933 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Joanna Marie (Conte) Macaluso.

He married Joyce Jenkins on Aug. 19, 1940 at Chicago, Ill. and she preceded him in death.

He is survived by one daughter - Judy Czarnecki and husband Ken of Streamwood, Ill., two brothers - Sam Macaluso and wife Liz of Du Quoin and Louie Macaluso of Tinley Park, Ill., and one sister - Pat Macaluso of St. Louis, Mo., nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his wife, and two brothers - Roger Macaluso and Richard Macaluso.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Dan McKinnies and Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the First United Pentecostal Church Building Fund, Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life, or Fairview Nursing Center Activity Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
