Orval D. Slusher

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Orval D. Slusher age 87 of Pinckneyville, Ill. passed away on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. in Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Nashville, Ill.

Orval was born on June 14, 1922 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a son to Henry and Sadie (McKinstry) Slusher. On March 23, 1948, he married Wanda Helvey in Pinckneyville, Ill. and she preceded him in death on March 7, 1984. Orval was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WW II and worked for many years at the My-T-Fine Pudding Factory in Pinckneyville, Ill. until his retirement.

Orval is survived by one son, Douglas Slusher; one daughter, Melissa (Terry) Rheinecker; three grandchildren, Leslie Rheinecker, Zachary Rheinecker and Timothy (Caree) Slusher and two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Gavin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers: Les and Lloyd Slusher.

Funeral services were held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Ted Clark officiating. Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
