Theodore Tilley Jr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Theodore "Ted" Tilley Jr., 75, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:14 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Ted had worked as a operator for Bunge Edible Oil for nineteen years and had worked at the Perry County Dog Pound for 10 years. He was a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church and was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam war.

He was born Aug. 9, 1934 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Charles Theodore "Ted" and Mary Lucille (Gilliam) Tilley.

He married Inge Cecilia Henzmann on May 15, 1957 at Kinsbach, Germany and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two daughters- Doris Schnell and Andy Zerites of Kankakee, Ill. and Linda Tilley of Du Quoin, four sons- Chuck Tilley and wife Maria, Jerry Tilley and wife Diana, Mike Tilley and Kevin Tilley and wife Dellene, all of Du Quoin, two sisters- Fredia Longshore and husband Corky and Debbie Zorn and husband Mark both of Du Quoin, brother- George "Bobby" Tilley and wife Donna of Du Quoin, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son- James Edward Tilley, sister- Barbara Alvis and brother- John Tilley.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Ted Clark officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin VFW and American Legion.
