Melba Jean Nehrkorn
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Melba Jean Nehrkorn, age 75 of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at 8:40 p.m. in Pinckneyville Health Care Center, Pinckneyville, Ill. surrounded by her loving family.
Melba was born on June 2, 1934 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a daughter to Wilson and Bertha (Benedict) Rennison. On Oct. 10, 1953, she married Raymond George Nehrkorn in Pinckneyville, Ill. and he survives. Melba was of the Baptist faith and attended Cross Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, Ill. for many years and was a 1952 graduate of Pinckneyville High School. Melba enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, traveling with fellow senior citizens on Sue Patton Bus Tours, listening to WDQN and going to yard sales. What brought Melba the most joy in her life was spending time with her family and friends and she will be dearly missed.
Melba is survived by her husband; four children, Cindy (Kendall) Abbott of Powder Springs, Ga., Ronald (Lesa) Nehrkorn of Pinckneyville, Ill., Martha (Bruce) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Glen (WaWanna) Nehrkorn of Dexter, Mo.; two brothers, Dean (Wanda) Rennison of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Jack (Karen) Rennison of Pinckneyville, Ill.; grandchildren, Erica Nehrkorn, Amanda Loos, Anthony (Kara) Kellerman, Jamie (Janelle) Kellerman, Ronald Nehrkorn, Jr., and Jara Nehrkorn all of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Chase Nehrkorn of Dexter, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Dominic Loos, Alexis Loos and Kaleb Kellerman; and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert Rennison and George Rennison; and a sister, Phyllis Hepp.
Funeral services were held at Roe's Dale Baptist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Charles Smith officiating. Interment was in Concord Baptist Cemetery, Rice, Ill.
Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
