James D. Williams Sr
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James D. Williams Sr., age 65, of Rantoul, died at 8:55 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at the Gibson Area Hospital Annex in Gibson City.
Memorial service was held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. The Rev. Dr. Freddie A. Banks Jr. and the Rev. Robert Simmons officiated.
Visitation was held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private and held at a later date.
James was born Nov. 3, 1944 in Paris, Tenn. a son of James D. and Lottie Perry Williams. He is survived by his wife Shirley Williams of Du Quoin, five children: Evette Williams of Mt Vernon, Kisha Williams, James Williams Jr., and Tarsha Williams all of Du Quoin, and Bud Williams of Carbondale, his parents Lottie and R. H. Hutcherson of Gibson City, 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George, and a sister, Patricia Simmons.
James served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the Amax Coal Company until closing and moved to Rantoul where he worked for Rantoul Products. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and jogging.
