William H. Bryant

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William H. "Bill" Bryant, age 80, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 at 12:37 a.m. in Fair Acres Nursing Home, Du Quoin, Ill.

Bill was born on March 4, 1929 in Harlan, Ky., a son to Walter and Nora (Young) Bryant. He married Georgianna Jean Turner on April 1, 1952 in New Mexico and she survives. Bill was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Du Quoin, Ill. He worked for many years at Captain Mine servicing "Big Bertha" as a master mechanic. Bill was a past member of the Elks Club, enjoyed bowling, golfing, was an avid painter, a marvelous dancer, former musician and songwriter and was a great fan of classic country music.

Bill is survived by his wife, three sons, Walter David Bryant of Pinckneyville, Ill., Travis Dean Bryant of Du Quoin, Ill., and Brandon Dwight (Selina) Bryant of Du Quoin, Ill.; four daughters, Donna Marie (Tom) Rosaita of Las Cruces, N.M., Carla Jean (Bill) Bird of Pinckneyville, Ill., Patricia Lynn (Scott) Hutchings of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Ramona Lisa (Chris) Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Danny Bryant of Galion, Ohio, one sister, Sue Evelyn (Ken) Robinette of Crestline, Ohio, and 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and counting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Nora Gayle Bryant, a son, William Dwayne Bryant and a son from a previous marriage, Jerry Bryant, three brothers, Claude, James and Charles Bryant; and two grandsons, Cullen Bryant and Jeremy McDaniel.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Saturday Jan. 2, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Memorials may be to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Bill's wishes were to be cremated.
