Catherine J. Cole

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Catherine J. Cole, 78, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:10 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at her residence.

Catherine was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin.

She was born Jan. 19, 1932 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the daughter of John and Gertrude (Kurtz) Ballheimer.

She married Wesley Cole on Oct. 7, 1950 at Sparta, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2004.

She is survived by five children - Sharon K. Snustad of Du Quoin, John Wesley Cole and wife Millie of Hazen, N.D., Dennis Alan Cole and wife Marsha of Du Quoin, Diane Young of Du Quoin, and Donald Ray Cole and wife Susie of Du Quoin, one brother - John Ballheimer and wife Rosie of Pinckneyville, one sister - Cecilia Finney of Tamaroa, over 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren and her companion dog - Kiki.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters - Virginia Haley and Rose Staples, and one brother - Francis Ballheimer.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. James VanOss officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

A Prayer Service was held at 5 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
