Harrisburg man dies in Tennessee mining accident
HARRISBURG - A Harrisburg man died in an eastern Tennessee mining accident, according to the Jefferson County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office.
According to that department, Brandon Roski, 35, of Harrisburg, died in the afternoon of Tuesday, May 18 in an accident at Nyrstar Mines in New Market, Tennessee.
The sheriff's office, along with detectives from its criminal investigation division were called to the mine at about 4:40 p.m. Eastern time for a death investigation.
Upon arrival, officers were told an accident occurred in the mine that resulted in Roski's death.
Roski was a private contract employee.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration is leading the investigation into the circumstances that resulted in the fatal accident. Results of the investigation will be released at a later date.
