James Dale Smith
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Dale Smith, 67, of Elkville, passed away at 6:21 p.m., Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
James had worked as a forklift operator at Turco Mfg. in Du Quoin for several years. He was a member of the Roe's Dale Baptist Church in Pinckneyville.
He was born October 13, 1942 at Denmark, Ill., the son of Glenn Lavern and Inez Murriel (Zoller) Smith.
He married Brenda Lilley and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son- Jeff Smith and his girlfriend Cindy Deleon of Elkville, brother- Melvin Smith of Willisville, sister- Eileen Craig of Steeleville, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers- Merle Smith, Clifford Smith and Mical Smith.
At James' request, cremation services were held. A family memorial service will be at a later date.
