Myrtle M. Eakin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Myrtle M. Eakin, age 100, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 12:39 p.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin, Ill.

Myrtle was born on Oct. 10, 1909 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to William Irvin and Margaret Ellen (Gilliam) Eakin. She was a member of Assembly of God, Du Quoin, Ill.

Myrtle enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, gardening, fishing, art work and she loved life.

She is survived by a nephew, Richard (Debra) Owens of Lincoln, Ill.; niece, Charlene (Ron) Sawyer of Benton, Ill.; two great-nieces, Fadra Ruenger of Bloomington, Ill. and Kathy Carpenter of Albuquerque, N.M.; great nephew, Rocky Bo Owens of Pinckneyville, Ill.; and great-great niece, Casie Page of Bloomington, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lola Alice Owens; niece, Delores Bennett; and great-nephew, Gage Owens.

Graveside service were held at Paradise Cemetery, Du Quoin, Ill. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends were asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
