Ida Mae Rich

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ida Mae Rich, 84, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:36 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Pinckneyville Health Care in Pinckneyville.

Ida was a homemaker and a member of the Tamaroa Baptist Church.

She was born January 9, 1926 at West Frankfort, Ill. the daughter of James and Rose (Schamm) Daffron.

She married Donald Harriss on December 9, 1942 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1975. She then married Rev. Tobe W. Rich on June 23, 1978 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2007.

She is survived by two daughters- Donna Mae Roberts of Lakeview, Ark. and Mary Merkel of Tamaroa, four sons- David Clay Harriss, William Harriss and Michael Harriss, all of Du Quoin and John H. Harriss of Pinckneyville, sister- Odell Stevenson of Pinckneyville, brother- John Daffron of Red Bud, 13 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sisters- Ruth Sawyer and Norma Jean Stanton and a brother- Tom Daffron.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Raymond D. Baggott officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Holts Prairie Cemetery at Pinckneyville.
