Dominica Ellen Schobert

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dominica Ellen "Mickey" Schobert, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:55 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 at her residence.

Mickey was a homemaker. She had worked with her husband Don in Schobert TV for thirty years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin and had been a member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.

She was born April 9, 1927 at Du Quoin, Ill. the daughter of Fred and Bessie Mae (Staton) Allabastro.

Mickey married Donald Matthew Schobert on Aug. 3, 1947 at Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1986.

She is survived by two sons- Donald Bryan Schobert and wife Mary Kay of Columbus, Ohio, Fred Matthew Schobert and wife Faye Irene of Du Quoin, four grandchildren- Tammy Jackson and husband Chuck of Pataska, Ohio, Bobby Schobert of Pataska, Ohio, Matthew Schobert and wife Camden of Waco, Tex. and Christine Thornton and husband Ed of Horicon, Wis., three great granddchildren- Chase and Kaelin Jackson of Pataska, Ohio and Grace Erin Thornton of Horicon, Wis., brother- David Allabastro and wife Roberta of Du Quoin, sister-in-law- Marge Allabastro of Du Quoin, niece- Kathy Melvin of Zeigler, nephew- Michael Allabastro of Pinckneyville, two great nephews- Jackson Melvin of Zeigler and Colton Allabastro of Pinckneyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother- Bill Allabastro.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with her grandson Matthew Schobert officiating.

Friends called from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
