</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert L. "Bob" Fulk, Sr., age 70, of Pinckneyville, Ill. passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at 10:15 p.m. in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Bob was born Dec. 8, 1939 in Swanwick, Ill., a son to Jesse Ray and Ernestine (Buchanan) Fulk. On Feb. 15, 1964, he married Sherry McClaire in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a medic during the Vietnam War. Bob was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. He was a self-employed truck driver for Fulk Trucking, served as the Deputy Perry County Coroner in 1996, and worked as a police officer for the Pinckneyville Police Department for 18 years. Bob served as the E.S.D.A. Director for the City of Pinckneyville from 1983 to 2002 and was a founding member of the Pinckneyville Sportsmans Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and just hanging out at his cabin. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather and dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sherry Fulk of Pinckneyville, Ill.; one son, Robert L. (Sydelle) Fulk, Jr. of Marion, Ill.; two daughters, Bonnie (John) Bean of Du Quoin, Ill. and Karen (Aaron) Carter of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two brothers, Dr. Bill R. (Terri) Fulk of Ft. Meyers, Fla. and Sam (Sylvia) Fulk of Pinckneyville, Ill.; three sisters, Kay (Russell) Eubanks of Pinckneyville, Ill., Dorothy (Tom) Wall of Chandler, Ariz. and Marilyn (Rex) Stombaugh of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; six grandchildren, Kelcie (Brandon) Conte, Lucus Carter, MacKenzie Emling, Arielle Fulk, Kiley Emling, and Noah Robert Carter; one great grandchild on the way; 16 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Edna McClaire and a sister-in-law, Dee Fulk.
Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Randall Moritz officiating. Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
