Jo Ann Owens

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jo Ann Owens, 81, of Tamaroa, passed away at 7:42 p.m., Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at the Shawnee Christian Nursing Center at Herrin.

Jo Ann had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Nine Mile Baptist Church in Tamaroa.

She was born Nov. 5, 1929 at Tamaroa, Ill., the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Rice) Owens.

She is survived by two sisters - Jacquelyn Kuhnert of Pinckneyville and Carole Murry of Tamaroa, one brother - Bob Owens of Cambria and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters - Peggy Brown, Margaret McCollum and Donna Bronke and one brother - Frank Owens.

Graveside services were at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa with Rev. Noah Schlag officiating.

Burial was in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Those attending the service were asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Friends may make memorials to the Nine Mile Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
