Faye M. Ernst

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Faye M. Ernst, 87, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:35 a.m., Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at the Marshall Browning Hospital at Du Quoin.

Faye was a homemaker. She had worked at Sparta Lincoln School as a cook. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and had been a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She was born March 24, 1923 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of John and Ann (Keifer) Polley.

She married Eugene E. Ernst on Jan. 31, 1943 at Perryville, Mo. and he preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1992.

She is survived by two daughters - Carol Wolters and husband Donald of Percy and Kim Johnson and husband Dana of Du Quoin, six grandchildren - Aaron Johnson and wife Jana, Jenny Bulliner and husband Will, Chris Johnson, and Tommy Johnson, all of Du Quoin, Amy Harris and husband William of Tamaroa and Lisa Batson and husband Robert of Chester, five great grandchildren - Joshua and Caleb Johnson, Hannah Harris, Cheyenne Harris and Emma Batson, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends called from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or First Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
