Mildred L. Cook

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mildred L. Cook departed to be with her heavenly father on Jan. 2, 2011.

She was born Dec. 7, 1917 in Du Quoin, Ill. to parents George and Anna Blanche (Stanhouse) Wright. She married Fred R. Cook on Aug. 30, 1937 in St. Charles, Mo.

Mildred was a member of First Christian Church in Du Quoin, Ill.

She is survived by their son Roger Cook, daughter-in-law Gretchen Cook of Sesser Ill., granddaughter Christine Carlson, her husband Richard Carlson and grandson Sam Carlson. Mildred is also survived by her brother George Wright and wife Gerry, brother-in-law Kenneth Howton, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom were dear to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Cook on Jan. 10, 1995, her brother Bill Wright and sisters Gladys Overton and Ann Howton.

Visitation was Thursday Jan. 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser.

Funeral services wereThursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home Sesser with Brother Mark Miller officiating.

Internment was at Mitchell Cemetery Sesser, Ill.

Mildred was a member of First Christian Church in Du Quoin, Ill.
