Frederick T. Findlay
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Frederick T. Findlay, 99, of Murphysboro, passed away at 2:25 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at the Rehab & Care Center of Jackson County in Murphysboro.
Fred had been a store manager at F. W. Woolworth. He served his country in World War II. He served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Force. He had been a member of the Murphysboro Rotary Club and was a avid golfer at the Jackson County Country Club.
He was born April 26, 1911 at Carbondale, Ill., the son of Frederick T.M. and Martha (Roberts) Findlay.
He married Velma Bailey on June 22, 1936 at Jackson, Mo. and she preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at the Tamaroa Cemetery in Tamaroa with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Those attending the services were asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial was in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.
The Searby Funeral Home of Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.
