</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ann L. Congiardo, 82, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 pm, Monday, January 24, 2010 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.
She was born to the late Arthur L. and Anna E. (nee Barnes) Smith on November 20, 1928 in Salem, Illinois.
She married Joseph Anthony Congiardo on January 12, 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana; he preceded her in death on August 25, 2003.
Ann was of Protestant Faith. She was a homemaker and also had work for her husband as a secretary at the Carpenter's Local #1361 in Chester. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She loved watching her birds and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed her travels and her winters in Florida. She was an avid Bingo player. She will be missed by family and friends.

Congiardo Godfrey, IL; 7 Grandchildren - Jeff (Sylvia) Congleton Wentzville, MO, Tracy (Ron) Cook O'Fallon, MO, Kim (Jason) Juenger Chester, IL, Brandy (Stu) Zahringer Chester, IL, Brian (Jodi) Congiardo Chester, IL, Christopher (Jessi) Congiardo Perryville, MO, Nicholas (Friend - Tiffany) Congiardo Carbondale, IL; 6 Great Grandchildren - Brittany Sterling, Elseah & Eli Congiardo, Luka Congiardo, Derek Mott and Brayden Juenger and a new great grandchild due in February to Jeff & Sylvia
Preceded in death by: Parents, Husband, 1 Sister - Ruby Walters, 1 Brother - Arthur "Bud" Smith and 1 infant brother
Funeral Service was held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 28, 2011 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois
Officiating: Rev. Peter Ill and Rev. Mark Willig
Interment: Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Illinois
Visitation was held Thursday from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday - 7:30 am - 11:00 am at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois
