Chester Walter Dabek, Jr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chester Walter Dabek, Jr., 64, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 5:36 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at his residence.

Chester had worked as a Deputy for the Cook County Sheriff&#39;s Department for 30 years. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. Chester was a member of the Du Quoin American Legion and Perry County Farm Bureau.

He was born June 21, 1946 at Chicago, Ill., the son of Chester Walter and Lillian (Burchart) Dabek, Sr.

He married Jolene Fitzsimmons on June 21, 1985 at Chicago, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Pinckneyville, six children - Beverly Kiedys, Paul Dabek, Marcy Altosino, Andy Dabek, David Kiedys and Tom Kiedys, all of Chicago, and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin American Legion and V.F.W.
