Ruby Irene Saunders

Ruby Irene Saunders, 97, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Tamaroa, passed away on June 13, 2014.

She was born to Grover and Dell Dasher on Jan. 19, 1917.

Ruby joined her two sisters, Laura Dell and Lilian Faye on June 13, 2014.

She married Lester Ray Saunders on Aug. 4, 1936 and he preceded her in death.

She was the mother of seven children, Ray Marlin "Duke" Saunders, Ada L. (Wayne) Carter, Marilyn Kay (Roy) Carter, John Wayne Saunders, Carolyn Sue (Bob) Smith, Oscar "Butch" (Betty) Saunders and Robert B. (Cathy) Saunders.

She was preceded in death by her father; mother; sisters; husband; sons, Duke and John and daughter, Kay.

She had 19 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Joseph Crowe officiating.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
