Bill T. Bernhard

Bill T. Bernhard, 91, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:09 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Westside Rehabilitation and Care Center in West Frankfort, Ill.

Bill had worked as a carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was born Aug. 8, 1922 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of George Jerald and Hazel (Roberts) Bernhard.

He married Wilma Lorene Waller on March 20, 1948 at Peoria, Ill. and she preceded him in death on June 4, 2005.

He is survived by one daughter - Tennia G. Kilmer and husband Mike of Du Quoin, one son - Floyd Waller and wife Peggy of Du Quoin, three grandchildren - Angelina Cooper of Du Quoin, Candace Waller of Du Quoin and April Waller of Knoxville, Tenn., five great grandchildren - Marcie Dunmyer, Christian Berry, Preston Green, Brettan Cooper and Derek Cooper and one great great grandson - Riley Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother - George Bernhard and one great granddaughter - Kory Jane Cooper.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Zeigler City Cemetery at Zeigler, Ill.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial will be in the Zeigler City Cemetery at Zeigler, Ill.

Friends may make memorials to the V.F.W. Funeral Detail and will be accepted at the funeral home.
