Obituary for Mildred D. Stipe

MILDRED D. STIPE, 91, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 12:45 am, Monday, October 19, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Chester.

She was born to the late Rudolph and Minnie (nee: Wolters) Feldmann on April 11, 1924, in Welge.

Mildred married James R. Stipe on August 6, 1949 at Wine Hill. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1981.

She was a homemaker.

Mildred was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester. She quilted and was an avid gardener, fisherman and cook. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include two children Wayne Stipe (Fiancée Sherry Bodenschatz) Chester, Linda (David) Rowold, Chester; one sister Marie HoopsChester; five grandchildren Travis Stipe, Percy, Carrie (Jeremy) Johnson, Chester, Stacie Stipe, Hemphill, Texas, Greg Rowold, Chester, Allison Rowold, Chester; six great grandchildren Sadie, Samantha, Cole, Jarrid, Nigel and Antonio; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by: parents, husband - James R. Stipe, two sons - Bobby Dale and Roger Ray Stipe and one brother - Harold Feldmann.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, with Rev. Timothy Sims, officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Wine Hill.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester and Thursday, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Chester.
