La Don Chappell

La Don Chappell, 76, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Arch Health Care in Energy, IL.

La Don was a Librarian and worked at the Du Quoin Public Library for several years. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Du Quoin.

She was born August 7, 1939 at Herrin, IL, the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Ray Williams.

She married Richard Lee Chappell on July 16, 1978 in West Frankfort, IL and he preceded her in death on November 22, 2015.

She is survived by one step-son - Richard L. (Rick) Chappell, Jr. of Russellville, MO, sister - Marty Innis and husband Curt of West Frankfort, IL, nephew - Scott Innis and wife Barbara of West Frankfort, IL, great-niece - Kristan Innis of Carterville, IL, five step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Joint funeral services will be with her husband Richard at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Kent Eaton officiating.

Friends may call from noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery at West Frankfort, IL.

Friends may make memorials to Second Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
