Lawrence A. (Larry) Meana of Stonefort
Lawrence A. (Larry) Meana, age 68, of Stonefort, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at his home.
Larry was born on Sept. 23, 1950 in Iowa City, Iowa, to the late George and Lavonne Scarf Meana. He married the former Roberta Krause on May 24, 1969.
He worked for John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa as a machinist for 30 years. He was a member of the Carrier Mills First United Methodist Church, UAW Local 94, and the Back Country Horseman of America.
Larry is survived by his wife, Roberta; two daughters, Bobbi Jo (Eric) Engelby of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and Becky (Lee) Blakewell of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Kerstin Jolie and Anders Engelby of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and Ashton and Zachary Blakewell of Galesburg; three brothers and three sisters, William Meana of Bettendorf, Iowa, Steve Meana of Colona, Illinois, Ben Meana of Walcott, Iowa, Pam Duran of Wilton, Iowa, Margaret Moreno of Prescott Valley, Arizona, and Virginia Berryman of Davenport, Iowa.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills with his pastor, the Rev. Todd Krost officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials in Larry's memory be directed to the First United Methodist Church.
