Mary E. Armstrong
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Mary E. Armstrong, 88, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
Mary was a homemaker and has also worked in the office at Du Quoin Packing Company and at Du Quoin Machine Works and Ideal Cleaners. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Du Quoin.
She was born May 13, 1920 at Du Quoin, the daughter of William and Katherine (Stanhouse) Davison.
She married Robert M. Armstrong on November 11, 1942 at St. Charles, Mo., and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, two sons- Timothy R. Armstrong and wife Linda of McKinney, Texas, and Chet Armstrong and wife Connie of Du Quoin, four grandchildren- Jana Kuhnert and husband Todd of Tamaroa, Chester Armstrong, Jr. and companion Jennie Longwell of Du Quoin, Elisa Peterson and husband Ben of Perth, Australia, and Erin Griffin and husband Patrick of Sunset, Utah, and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers- William Douglas Davison, William R. Davison, and John Davison and two sisters- Irene Sullivan and Elizabeth Davison.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Tim Scroggins officiating.
Friends may make memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
