Clifford Harrell

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Clifford W. Harrell Sr., 81, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at 3:58 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital's emergency room.

Clifford was born on June 30, 1926, in Eden, Ill., a son to Elbert and Turzabelle (Shelton) Harrell. On June 29, 1946, he married Mary E. Galbraith in Pinckneyville, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 1987. He worked as a Teamster, having driven for Dunn Brothers for 40 years and for Perry County Redi Mix for five years. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, Teamsters Local #347, loved to fish and loved his family.

Survivors include a son, Clifford "Punk" W. (Pam) Harrell Jr. of Du Quoin; a daughter-in-law, Eva (Joe) Hopp of Pinckneyville; a brother, Edwin (Lydia) Harrell of Du Quoin; a special friend, Dorothy Collins of Du Quoin; nine grandchildren, Kim Borowiak, Tina Huge, Stacy Hirsch, Dawn Heumann, Cheryl Tregoning, Trisha Brock, Jason Houghland, Leah Hopp and Mason Hopp, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Jack Houghland; eight sisters and seven brothers.

Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Monday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Monday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. and at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove Mission Funds.
