In crisis because of COVID-19? WEEOC can help

The Western Egyptian Economic Opportunity Council, a community action agency headquartered in Steeleville, has received funding to assist residents living in Randolph County who are in crisis due to COVID-19.

Programs include help with rent, mortgage, utilities and assistance meeting other basic needs. To qualify, a household must fall at or below 200% of the federal poverty income guidelines and be able to provide proof of a crisis and all requested supporting documentation.

Western Egyptian EOC also continues to offer assistance for customers in a non-COVID-19 related crisis with similar programs and guidelines.

Residents of Randolph County whose households are at or below 185% of the federal poverty income guidelines may receive food once a month from our food pantry located in Sparta. The Sparta food pantry is open for curbside pickup each Tuesday from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

If you have questions, contact the Randolph County Outreach Office at (618) 443-5231.
