Michael G. Jackson

Michael G. Jackson, 52, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Michael had been a self-employed handy man.

He was born Jan. 1, 1962 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Alva and Jean (Davis) Jackson.

He married Pamela A. Turner on May 16, 1996 in Du Quoin and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two children - Hollie Morgan and Reba of Du Quoin and Levi Jackson of Du Quoin, three grandchildren - Kaylee Bloomfield of Coulterville, Hunter Morgan and Colton Jackson, both of Du Quoin, two sisters - Twana Spinnie and Tonga Stroud and husband Wayne, all of Du Quoin, one brother - Donald Jackson of Carmi, nieces and nephews - Violet Abel, Anthony Melvin, Jeff Melvin, Jason Stroud, Michael Stroud and Christopher Stroud and best friends - Bill Davis and Ricky Cavins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers - Wayne Dean Davis and James Earl Davis.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
